Sold by the oz. Ceylon Supreme is a classic black tea from Sri Lanka. In colonial times, this island nation was known as Ceylon. This name is still used to describe all teas grown here. Ceylon tea is bright and lively, medium-bodied and delightfully tangy. Our Ceylon Supreme Peoke, it hails from the renowned Kenilworth Estate, located in Sri Lanka's Kandy region. Pekoe is a classification of black tea based upon the origin of the leaf. To be classified as pekoe, the tea must be composed purely of the new flushes - a flush being the leaf bud plucked with two youngest leaves. (Any other leaves produce teas of lower quality.) Sold by the oz. Bai Mu Dan is a delicate White Tea grown in Fuding, China. Harvesting by hand, only the bud and top two leaves of each tea tree are carefully handled to create this elusive tea. It is then air dried and withered into green leaves with downy hair. Also known as, White Peony, it offers a greater potency than Silver Needle. White Peony is known to offer high antioxidants with comparably low caffeine content because White teas are the least processed of all tea types. Though its taste profile is faint at first it becomes increasingly sweet in each subsequent infusion, revealing a surprisingly smooth grassy sweet note to the end.
